Recyclable Materials
BOPP film and paper cores are selected for recyclability, and we continue to increase the recycled content in our packaging and cores.
Tape is a small part of a package produced in enormous volume, which is exactly why small reductions per roll are worth engineering. Here is what we have actually changed.
Sustainability pages in this industry tend to be written in the future tense. Ours is deliberately narrow: the changes below are either in place on the line today, currently being implemented, or scheduled - and each is labelled accordingly, so nothing aspirational is presented as achieved.
The single largest change we have made is chemical. Water-based acrylic is now the default adhesive system across our BOPP range, which removes solvent emissions from the majority of what we produce and takes flammable liquid handling out of the coating hall.

Water-based acrylic adhesive systems are our default across the BOPP range, sharply reducing solvent emissions from the coating process.
Heat recovery on curing ovens, efficient drives and LED plant lighting reduce the energy required for every square metre we coat.
Precision slitting, edge-trim recovery and tighter production planning keep material wastage low and divert scrap from landfill.
Down-gauged films with equal performance mean less plastic per roll without compromising seal strength for the customer.
Suppliers are assessed on quality and environmental practice, so responsibility extends beyond our own factory gate.
Standard BOPP production runs on water-based acrylic, removing solvent emissions from the majority of our output.
Slitting trim is collected and routed for recovery instead of general waste, and trim width is tracked as a production metric.
Working with customers to move to thinner films that hold the same seal, cutting plastic per carton without a performance trade.
Heat recovery and drive efficiency projects on the curing ovens target the largest single energy consumer in the plant.
Increasing recycled fibre content in paper cores while holding the crush strength converters need on their shafts.
Extending supplier assessment beyond quality to environmental practice, so responsibility does not stop at our gate.
Most customers are running a thicker tape than their cartons need, because the grade was chosen once for the heaviest box and then applied to everything. Moving the bulk of your volume down one micron step, or right-sizing roll length to actual usage, takes real material out of every carton you seal - and lowers your cost at the same time.
Request a Specification ReviewIf a customer or a certification body is asking about the adhesive chemistry in your packaging, we can supply the technical detail behind what we produce for you, in writing.
